EDINBURGH - 1974 TRIP

GLAMIS CASTLE

GLAMIS CASTLE has been a royal residence in Angus since 1372. It was the childhood home of the Queen Mother Elizabeth, and the birthplace of HRH Princess Margaret.
Glamis is the legendary setting of Shakespeare's play "Macbeth".
There is an entrance to a private garden at the side of the castle.
This is a close-up of the entrance to Glamis Castle.
We took another photo of the entrance from the parking lot.
At the side of the castle, there is an ancient sun-dial.
The Italian Gardens at Glamis consist of two acres enclosed with tall Yew hedges, Douglas Firs and hardwood trees.
Here is an arbour along a walkway in the Italian Gardens of Glamis Castle.
