EDINBURGH - 1974 TRIP

EDINBURGH ZOO

After a day of shopping, we decided to visit the zoo which is located towards the airport on the outskirts of Edinburgh. One of our first encounters was this giraffe seen with Pat.
After visiting the buildings, we started to climb Corstofine Hill. From here we could see Arthur's Seat in the distance.
We managed to take some photographs of Highland cattle in order to make sketches later.
Although there was only a small herd of Highland cattle in the zoo, we would see some later in a few pastures during our trips.
Higher up Corstofine Hill, we obtained this view of the city of Edinburgh.
This view, in the opposite direction from the city, is towards the airport.
Before leaving the zoo, we passed the hippopotamus enclosure.
With a wide-open mouth, old hippo seemed to say, Good-bye."
