Mountain View Station

The train did not stop here today, since there were no hikers going to Barr Camp on the trail named after Fred Barr. Fred Barr, the designer and builder of Barr Trail, built the camp as a halfway rest-station for his burro trips between 1921 and 1924. It was to be used as a halfway rest-station for the burro trips, which Fred led to the summit. At 10,200 feet, it proves ideal for hikers and climbers, who have used it as an overnight rest stop ever since.
