AVI VIEWING SUGGESTIONS

SET UP

Some of the AVI selections stop playing due to problems with buffering. If clicking on the PLAY button doesn't work, try holding a RIGHT CLICK on the NEEDLE LOCATION on the Play Line Display while moving the location back on the line a bit. Then repeat a click on the PLAY button if required.

The cylinders work satisfactorily with AVI when you use the PLAY AGAIN option at the completion of the preceding instructions.

NOTES ABOUT THE VIDEOS

SET UP

Production of the videos involved some experimenting. The handle on the right side needed to be turned with a steady hand to keep the cylinder rotating at a constant speed. Videos #1790 and #3159 illustrate this aspect best. (The entire machine moved at almost the halfway point during the playing of video #1810).

Note the lever at the front of the needle casing. When the cylinder was rotating, it always loosened. This caused the needle to lose sufficient pressure for the production of sound. You will see my finger enter the picture during the recording of videos #1876, #2148, #2263 and #2353. Video #26016 shows the #1810 problem as well.

An asterisk (*) after a number indicates that the AVI recording played from beginning to end without stopping, and includes many which were "persuaded" to complete playing to the end. These recordings have been transferred to Youtube and will appear on a separate webpage. After you have viewed the playing of the cylinder, the YouTube option of "Watch Later" restores the presentation for a repeat later in the day. Use the BACK KEY of your browser to return to the memu.

If you have read the AVI VIEWING SUGGESTIONS and would like to try viewing a fairly difficult sample, try your hand
HERE with cylinder #1769.
