Armadale Ferry to Mallaig

The tour group was driven to the Ferry at Armadale, where we were piped aboard. We disembarked at Mallaig on the mainland and drove to Glenfinnan at the north end of Loch Sheil.

Culloden Memorial
The monument at the north end of Loch Sheil is a tribute to clansmen who supported the cause of Prince Charles Edward Stuart at Culloden.

Harry Potter Movies
Some may recognize the Hogwarts Express leaving the Glenfinnan railway station or the famous bridge in a couple of Harry Potter movies. We discovered that pupils from Lochaber High School, dressed in wizard or witch attire, were cast as students of Hogwarts Castle for two movies to this date . . . Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2001) and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2003/2004).
