EDINBURGH - 1974 TRIP

BOTANICAL GARDENS

On Saturday, July 20, we visited the greenhouses, tea rooms, rock gardens, demonstration plots and ponds of the Edinburgh Botanical Gardens. Here Doug stands in front of the rockery.
Now it is Pat's turn to stand beside the lily pond.
The tropical greenhouse was spectacular.
In a steamy, humid atmosphere, we enjoyed the tropical trees and orchids on display in this area.
A cluster of colourful asters caught Pat's eye, and they were photographed. [The sun did not always co-operate this well.]
Doug stood in front of an ivy-covered wall at this perennial border for this photograph.
Pat saw these bright yellow flowers as we were approaching the tea house.
