The New Amsterdam was docked by 7:00 a.m.. We spent a wonderful day with Doug's cousins, Jan and Don Ross, who took us on a tour of Ketchikan.
Our first stop was at Totem Bight State Park, an historical Tlingit campsite on the shore ten miles north of ketchikan .
A short walk through the rain forest led to an authentic ceremonial clan house.
Lee Wallace and Darald Dewitt were two artists who were carving totem poles at Saxman Native Village Carving Centre.
